Episode 14 - It's Christmas!

Episode 13 - Gazzas' Arrival (and other stories)
Gazzas arrival was imminent; Ted was scurrying around making sure everything was "Ship shape and Bristol fashion!! "What Does that Mean?" asked Ced, Ted replied "It means that if you don't help me tidy up I will have to stop your cake allowance!" WHOOOOSH!!! Ced was a blur of cleaning, dusting, tidying and generally speeding around. "I NEVER want to lose my Cake allowance" thought Ced, after a little time Ced shuffled up to Ted to ask, "What's an allowance?" Ted sighed "I thought you knew?" "No" said Ced, "I heard the word cakes and thought, if I help I will get some." Just then the doorbell rang - "He's here He's here" Ted said, anxiously wringing his paws, "I hope everything is ok." Gazza rang again, "Hello in there!" "I am here!" He shouted through the letter box, "Is the Kettle on? Have you bought cakes?"

Ted asked Ced to open the door, but when he turned to look for him, Ced was off to hide his cakes. "I have bought enough cakes for all of us," shouted Ted "You never know" Ced yelled back, busily cramming cakes into his mouth, crumbs flying. The door was finally opened by a cream and crumb laden Ced, and there was Gazza. " A little bit small aren't you?"Ced laughed. Ted looked worried "At least I have nice hats," was Gazzas reply "How's my little cousin? and who's your odd friend?"
"My name is Ced and I am NOT odd! I am full of cakes...Ha!" "Sorry about that Gazza" said Ted "Ced is very young and full of sugar." "That's ok," said Gazza, "I am just glad to see you after all this time." Gazza and Ted spent most of the day catching up and sharing photos, and laughing. Ced wasn't sure if his cakes were safe, so he ate them all! The photos Gazza showed them, gave the boys dreams of travel and exotic places.

The photo of Gazza on the plane home was Ced's favourite. However Gazzas stay would be short, as he had to be on his way to the Arctic, via Finland to steer another ship and shout at more people, but the adventure would be recorded by him and the pictures will be sent back to Ted and Ced, so they could follow his journey, and check all the places he was to visit, and the people he would meet and the sights he would see! This sounded Soooooo exciting that Ced could not sleep that night! so he drank Tea and looked through Gazzas photos until he fell fast asleep!!
(Check next time! will the photos be brill? will Gazza shout at people? Will Ced ever stop eating cakes??)
Episode 12 - Geography is fun!

Steering Duties
After contemplating buying a Bowler Hat (for emergencies only!) Ted thought less and less of the idea, also Ced roaring with laughter at the very thought, made Ted change his mind. Ted sometimes wondered where Ced got his energy from? - "Cakes and sleep," Ced once told Ted. "in moderation of course," he added with a smile. Ted was in need of some form of "anti-Ced-cakes-donkey-wet hat-relaxation!. He had begun to read a postcard he had received earlier that day. "Whatya readin'?" Ced asked, "a postcard from Africa" replied Ted, "What's an Africa?" Ced asked trying to read over Ted's shoulder. With a sigh Ted rolled his eyes and explained knowingly, "Africa, my bob-hatted little friend, is a large Continent! Ted puffed his chest out proudly, "So there!" Ced thought for a while, ate some cakes and tea before he asked quite seriously, "Why has this Africa bloke sent you a postcard?" A heavy sigh followed from Ted, "my cousin Gazza has sent it, he is working off the coast there." Another pause followed, "will he not get wet?" asked Ced. "He is on a boat, silly" Ted replied. "He has an important job, steering the Boat and shouting at people".

"That sounds brill" said Ced, who often shouted. "You will have the chance to meet him," Ted explained. "He is on his way to visit, as he has some time off due to a flower eating incident!" Ced as usual was puzzled, "Flower what?" he asked, "Apparently" explained Ted, "He had eaten the Captain's Wife's Flowers, so he was given time off for being naughty" "Oh dear!" said Ced, edging closer to the flowers on the windowsill "Yeeeeuuuuucccckkkk!!!" Ced shouted, "they taste terrible".

Ced of course had to try to taste the flowers to see what all the fuss was. "Well?" Ted asked, "what do they taste like?"...... "FEET!" was Ced's reply, which was difficult because his head was under the tap trying to get the flower taste out of his mouth. "Cakes!" Ced shouted, "I Need Cakes!" He shouted again. "Silly Sausage," said Ted "Let's get you some, and we can both look forward to Gazza's visit. Ced thought to himself, "I wonder if I can steer a boat?" He again started to make "Brum Brum" noises as they called into Boddy's for some tea and cakes!
Episode 11 - The Runaways (continued...)
With the donkey well on its way to dropping Ted and Ced in the sea, Ted thought about advice a wise old bear had taught him! "In times of great stress and danger, SHOUT A LOT!! and Wave! In an instant both He and Ced were waving and shouting frantically, hoping someone would see them and rescue them, before the sea shrunk Teds' fur.

"I want me mum!" shouted Ced! "Will a fireman do?" a voice was heard to say, "or two?" another voice said. As the sea drew ever nearer, two sets of strong arms grabbed the reigns and brought the donkey to a panting stop! "Again!!" shouted Ced, giddy from the chase. "Not likely" Ted replied. "Watching you eat lots of cakes and a donkey chase was quite enough for one day, thank you! Oh and where's me hat?" "over there floating in the sea, soggy and wet" said Ced!
With the two friends safe, and Teds hat recovered, once again Ceds thoughts turned to happier times "Mmmm Cakes" he thought. He was off! "Where's your friend off to in such a hurry?" the firemen asked. "Cakes, I'm afraid" Ted exclaimed. "Wait for us!" shouted the firemen, as they dashed to catch Ced up... Ted was left alone to wonder about his wise old mentor and where he was, what he would be doing now, and would the firemen get any cakes if Ced got to the shop first? The Chase had left him weary and tired, the best thing he thought, was to go home have a cup of tea, and pinch the T.V. remote before Ced got back from the cake shop!

After a while, Ced returned full of cakes but much happier, "Whatya watchin'?" asked the now full Ced, "half way through an episode of Seaside rescue, featuring the dangers of learner donkey riders!" explained Ted. "Bit late for us" said Ced. "Yes" replied Ted, "and in future, we should get our excitement from books and stuff." "AAwwww!" replied Ced "But it's soooo funny when your hat goes walkabout!" Ted looked at the sodden hat on the radiator steaming quietly, "Maybe I should buy a Bowler hat!" thought Ted.........

Episode 9 - An Education?
Ted had thought long and hard about his future in his new home (which for a small bear had given him a head explosion sort of feeling).
Since CED arrived the two of them had spent lots of time together having great fun, everything seemed to be in place. They talked for hours and hours of what to do next.......... "Having tea and cakes" was Ceds immediate answer, "You and your Tummy!" Ted replied, but his reply fell on deaf ears, as Ced had already sped off to the kitchen! "All this talk of food has made my tummy rumble!" He yelled.
Ted realised all too well that Ceds tummy could not be ignored, (as once his tummy rumbled so loud that all the car alarms went off in their street!!).
After some tea and cakes the friends sat down to plot their future! Since his driving disaster, Ted decided that he wanted to learn and learn lots and lots of stuff! Useful stuff too, not just how many marshmallows a certain friend could put in his mouth at once! "23!" Ced shouted, "Learning, once made my head hurt, so I stopped" said Ced (which explained a lot!) "But where will you go to learn stuff?" asked Ced, (already feeling the effects of too many cakes) Ted thought and thought, he thought so hard that Ced wondered if he should stand back in case Teds head exploded!
All this thinking had given Ced a headache, so he suggested a trip to the beach to relax (Ted had wanted to try on his Leather flying jacket and hat again), so he agreed. The two friends were just enjoying the ride when SWOOSH! a large seagull swept down and nicked Teds hat!"Nooooo" wailed Ted "Me outfits ruined" Without thinking Ted shortened the reigns, and with lots of "GiddyUps" from Ced were hot on the trail of the "Hat knicker" they bounced and held on tightly as the donkey sped towards the sea! "STOP" yelled Ted "I can't get me fur wet!","It'll shrink!"
Where will the seagull take Teds hat? Will the Donkey stop in time? Will all the bouncing make Ceds cakes come back up? If the Donkey doesn't stop in time, will Ted's fur shrink? Is Ced enjoying all this excitement TOO much? Have I run out of questions?
Make sure you don't miss next month's adventure, THE RUNAWAYS!!!!

Episode 8 - Driving
After another exciting day out with Ced, Ted thought it would be a good idea to have an ice cream, "it helps me think", he once told everyone! And where better to go, but down to the seafront to his favourite store, to see his favourite ice cream lady, Jo.
"Morning Ted" shouted Jo, "what will it be today? Lemon top as usual?" "Thanks, and the same for Ced". Ced had not tasted the Lemon top as yet, and Ted was keen to see if Ced would like it...
But when Ted looked the ice cream had gone!!!!... "Flippin eck" said Ted "you're supposed to lick it slowly, not gobble it down silly!" Ced could not reply as the ice-cream was so cold that his voice was too wobbly... "NNNice TTTaste" was all Ced could say as his teeth began to chatter.
Ted laughed to see Ced shivering, (but still his hat was safe!). Jo told Ted, that later that day a special event was taking place along the seaside drive! Lots and lots of smart vans and cars would parade along the seafront, followed by lots of food and fun things to do! Now, unknown to anyone, Teds secret ambition was to drive, as a cub he had watched people drive along and he wished that one day he could try. So Ced and Ted set off on a mission to drive!!
As they approached the cars and vans that had parked along the road Ted noticed one of the cars had No roof on! and Ted said to Ced "this looks like fun, shall we ask if we can drive it?" They walked up to the owner who laughed but said "yes of course but......." His sentence was cut short by Teds squeal of delight and the fact that he had already jumped in to the car!!
DISASTER!!!!!!!! Teds disappointment was clear for all to see "Me Feet won't reach the pedals!!" yelped Ted,..... Ced thought nothing of it, and kept making Brum Brum noises! Ted was gutted!
"Never mind Ted" said Ced "think of it as a blessing". Ted looked puzzled ,"even if your feet could reach the pedals, you still can't see out of the windows! and your arms are not long enough."
Ted smiled, still disappointed but thought it was a good enough reason to go for another ice cream!
Episode 7 - More excitement???
Surfing had taken its toll on Ted and Ced! "Time to chill!” said Ted. “I agree!” Ced shouted from bed. “Get up lazy bones, I have an idea.” Ced was down in a flash “You have an idea?” Ced was puzzled. Ted had seen a poster in town Come and see the seals at the sea life centre! Ced asked “What’s a Sea life centre and why do they want to seal it?” Oh Dear” Ted sighed, It seems Ced was in need of some education. “Come on Dozy, and don’t forget your hat!”
The two friends boarded the train and set off, Ced still muttering.. ”if they want to seal it.....” It would be a long journey.
As the train chugged along, Ted had forgotten that Ced had never seen a Seal before; This should be interesting Ted thought.
The Centre was busy, but they had arrived at just the right time! Ted and Ced made their way forwards to the front where the Penguins were waiting patiently for din dins (as Ced liked to call it) as they watched, a familiar face swung into view, but a familiar face only to Ced “not lost your hat yet?” The voice came from inside the feeding area! “PORKY!!” shouted Ced “what are you doing here?” “And no not yet!” Ted was surprised,“How on earth do know you him?” asked Ted “SHE” said Ced, “was in the cafe I stopped in after I arrived, we tell each other jokes and laugh a lot” Ced rushed to the fence happy to see his friend.. Time passed and the two laughed and told stories. However they laughed SO much that din dins came and went. “I’m starving” shouted Porky (a name given by Ced after her LOVE of Bacon butties)
“Don’t worry” Ted shouted “We brought a packed lunch” “Fantastic” said Porky, Bacon butties with brown sauce...” How did you know?” asked Ted “Porky sent me a P-mail this morning” “A “P”-mail” “Don’t you mean an E-Mail?” “No Silly, a “P”-Mail is a request from Porky for Bacon butties” Ted was so puzzled that Ced had any idea what he was talking about ...........He Fell over from the shock!!!!! But after cups of tea and FINALLY seeing the Seals the 3 friends said goodbye hugged and off they went (as it was past Ceds bedtime) ....“You Know what?” Ced muttered “I Don’t like brown sauce”

Episode 6 - New Skills
With plenty of time to enjoy his new surroundings - and with his bestest friend in the world at his side - Ted decided it was time to do what most young bears did at the seaside... SURF!!!
But where to go?? what to wear?? and would salt water on his fur make him smelly??... Ced didn’t care He was OFF!! As fast as his little legs could carry him, down towards the sea. But as He crossed the road to the Grand Hotel he fell over... SPLAT!!! Poor Ced! He was brave, although his hat had flown off he was o.k. just a little shaken “You Ok?” A voice called out, “I think so” Ced shouted back... “I’ve lost me hat!”,“Is this yours?” the voice spoke again... “Oh Gosh yes thanks!” As Ted caught up he introduced Ced to the voice, “Ced meet Carl, and he’s a surf instructor from Bay Surf in the Town”. Brill! We’ll take two boards and some training wheels for them! And two rubber rings and a floppy hat (Ced was getting into the surfer look) “I think some training will be in order” said Carl.
He was right!... Falling off was a regular event for Ted, but Ced was a natural! He loved it!! The three of them had a good time and lots of fun...they even had time for an ice-cream. They were exhausted but had learnt a lot from Carl, such as how cheeky some crabs are when your board lands on them, chasing board-nicking crabs along the beach isn’t a cool look! ... “On the whole” Ted exclaimed “Surfing is Fun” but no-one replied as Ced was already in the surf shouting “Gimme back me board!” Another crab bashed!!
The next day, aching from too much surfing (falling off in Ted’s case) Ted and Ced decided to chill out (a phrase Ced had picked up along with many bruises).
After another Ice cream and a brew they let the sun do its best and lazed the day till teatime.....

Episode 5 - Together At Last

The next few days the two friends explored their new home. The Harbour, Castle, and of course the Beach, Ced loved the beach, but something on the beach didn't like him!! "Run!" he yelped but he couldn't, because a
very small and very cheeky little crab pinched Ced's bottom!! "What are you doing?" asked Ted, He couldn't see the crab as Ced spun round and round trying to make the little pest let go. "I thought you were going to crush me" a little voice was heard to say. They both looked down, and there on the sand was the smallest crab they had ever seen! Slightly dizzy because Ced had spun so fast! "My name's Chris" the little crab shouted, as he scurried away."Sorry" the two friends shouted "are you ok?" a small voice came back "Just going for a brew, and I'll be fine" "See ya guys" As the two friends settled down they both thought ................................................. had they seen the last of Chris Crab ??
